Deltasig vs. Delta Sig

November 16, 2010

Welcome to Terminology Tuesday! Each Tuesday we will blog about some commonly misused terms within the Fraternity. It’s our hope that you take some time to read, laugh, smile, and then use the information to alter your word choices, and the choices of those around you.

Ever think Delta Sigma Pi is just too long to say or write out? Well, guess what: you can abbreviate it! But, be careful when you do. The accepted abbreviation for our Fraternity is Deltasig (one word, lowercase s). Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity uses Delta Sig (two words, uppercase S) to identify themselves and we don’t want to be confused!

The DELTASIG (all upercase, one word) is also the name of our magazine, which is published three times a year. Look for a new issue coming soon.

We have been called, deltasigers. As in “those deltsigers are always sending in room request forms.”
