Badge vs. Pins

October 16, 2012

Welcome back to Terminology Tuesday! Each Tuesday we will blog about some commonly misused terms within the Fraternity. It’s our hope that you take some time to read, laugh, smile, and then use the information to alter your word choices, and the choices of those around you.

The Pledge Pin of Delta Sigma Pi is a true Greek letter, Delta, containing a crown of gold in a red field.
The Official Badge of Delta Sigma Pi is a gold skull and crossbones superimposed on a wreath of leaves, with the Greek letters of Delta Sigma Pi inscribed on the skull and crossbones. The eyes in the skull are of amethyst, and a red crown rests on top of the skull. The entire badge is enclosed by a crescent, which may contain nineteen jewels, either pearls, rubies or diamonds. Delta Sigma Pi also has a “recognition pin” displaying the Greek letters ΔΣΠ, in addition to other Fraternity jewelry, all of which are obtainable from the Central Office or its authorized vendors.
