Rethink Insurance as THE Place to Start Your Career

April 4, 2013

One of the benefits of our partnership with GEICO is an exchange of resources and career advice. This blog is written by Shannon Smedstad, GEICO Careers Blogger, and she wants you to consider GEICO as a place to begin your career.

Are you interested in working in an industry that is growing and competitive? Looking to work for a reputable employer that’s making a difference in peoples’ lives? Want a company that will support your career aspirations?

GEICO – an insurance company – offers all that, and more! We know that most business students don’t go to college thinking they’ll end up working in insurance. Many of our own employees have said the same thing. For those of us who’ve made careers in insurance, we know first-hand how dynamic and rewarding this industry can be.

It’s with great pleasure that we share one of our newest employee videos with Delta Sigma Pi. It features real associates (most of whom graduated just a few short years ago) who chose GEICO as the place to be after graduation. They made the transition from campus to corporate by joining one of our two fast-track management training programs.

Associates in these selective leadership programs learn our business from the ground up, experience various job rotations, receive mentoring, and are on an accelerated career path toward management. So, if you have a few minutes right now, watch this video … we hope it changes the way you think about launching your career in insurance.

Ready to apply to a GEICO leadership program? Visit Deltasigs can also connect directly with Debra Mienke-Pence, GEICO’s dedicated DSP recruiter, on either Facebook or LinkedIn
