Stay Motivated on the Job

If not already, many college students will soon start their summer jobs and internships, but what if you got your job last-minute and are not thrilled about it?

First, consider reading the inspiring USA Today article, Great Career Success Debate: Is there value in my ‘dead-end’ summer job?  In the article, author, entrepreneur and professor Patrick O’Brien and career expert, founder of Leadhership1, author and Carlson School of Management faculty Dr. Susan Davis-Ali, offer their advice about less than ideal jobs. Next, consider taking their advice about taking initiative, working hard and taking ownership. Finally, next year when you are applying for jobs and internships, the lessons you learned from the job you didn’t want may help you land your dream job.
